More Than A Bus

By November 4, 2021October 25th, 2022Newsletter

RVTD would like to invite you to take a ride with us!

We have 13 fixed routes, one of which goes from downtown Medford to Jacksonville and back once every hour from 6:30am to 6:30pm M-F and 7:30am-5:30pm on Saturdays.  Our District serves Jacksonville, Medford, Central Point, Eagle Point, White City, Phoenix, Talent and Ashland.  Regular fare is $2.00 per ride with the option to transfer two times within 90 minutes of first trip boarding.  Reduced fare is $1 for those who qualify and those between the ages of 10 and 18 or over 62.

ADA Paratransit services are available, through approval of application, offering curb to curb service.  Valley Lift serves within ¾ of a mile of any fixed route and costs $4 per ride with no transfers.  A personal care assistant may accompany the rider for free with the cost of a single fare.

All RVTD vehicles are cleaned and sanitized every 4 hours of operation and have capacity limits and distanced seating that exceeds State and Federal requirements, so a clean, safe ride is assured.  Our air-conditioned/heated buses are driven by professional operators who care about the needs and safety of the public they serve.  Coach operators enjoy their jobs and are there not just to drive but to answer any questions riders may have so the trip is as comfortable and worry-free as possible.

Getting to know the RVTD system allows you to let someone else do the driving.  Whether it’s for shopping, appointments, visiting friends or just getting out of the house to see some place new, we are ready when you are to help you learn all about the system!  Our Way to Go Program is a transportation demand management program designed to provide individuals with alternatives to driving alone. These alternatives include coordinated access to vanpool and carpool programs as well as providing subsidies and transit discounts to employers to encourage automobile commuting alternatives. This program also promotes the use of bicycles and pedestrian travel through outreach programs, teaching travel safety and travel training to educate riders on how to use public transportation.

Once you’re acquainted with our transportation system, you’ll want to ride all the time!  We make it easy to use fares and passes with our UMO Pass and other fare programs through area employers.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call RVTD Travel Trainer Mike Bowman at 541-608-2420 or email him at mbowman@rvtd.org
