Opening Announcement – 2/25/2021

Good news for Jackson County! We are now designated a High risk county, which means the Jacksonville Community Center is allowed to open at 25% capacity!
We are excited to welcome you back in March with Indoor Tai Chi and two wonderful presenters- all held in our Great Room. Registrations will be limited to 20.  All will wear masks and practice social distancing.
We look forward to seeing you all soon!

Policies may change as conditions evolve.

Please be aware of the following requirements when participating in an INDOOR Jacksonville Community Center activity:

  1. All participants will fill out a brief COVID questionnaire each time they participate in an activity. On that questionnaire you will agree that you have not, in the past 14 days, been in contact with anyone that you knew had COVID-19, and neither you nor anyone in your residence has in the past 7 days had a fever greater than 100 degrees, cough, sore throat, respiratory illness, difficulty breathing or loss of taste or smell.  If any of the conditions apply to you, you may not participate in the activity. You will also be asked to provide basic contact information to use in the event contact tracing is necessary with an infected individual.  Your information will only be used for this purpose and will not be shared or used for any other reason.
  2. Participants will be required to use face coverings at all times while in the facility. We will have masks available for $1.00. 
  3. We will be posting signage that instructs all attendees to maintain 6 feet of physical distance, unless they are from the same family unit. Each participant is responsible for keeping their chair and/or themselves 6 feet in distance from others at all times.
  4. We have closed the water fountains at the Center, you are encouraged to bring a personal bottle of water clearly marked with your name.
  5. A maximum of 25 people will be allowed in the Great Room.
  6. A maximum of 10 people will be allowed in the Cottage.
  7. No food or drink may be PREPARED at Jacksonville Community Center activities at this time. Only commercially prepared food may be SERVED at JCC activities. (Only foods that are purchased at a store or prepared at an establishment with health standards certification are allowed to be served.)
  8. As a coordinator of the event, you will be designated the physical distancing monitor, to help ensure compliance with all distancing requirements, including at entrances, exits, restrooms, parking lots and any other area where people may congregate.

The mission of the Jacksonville Community Center (JCC) is to create a community center to serve as a gathering place for all ages in Jacksonville and its environs, with programs that meet community needs, enhance the quality of life, and promote community involvement through education, cultural activities, music, arts, recreation, and wellness, in a facility that is well maintained, accessible and safe.
