Jacksonville Woodlands Explorer Camp- Session 2: June 29 - July 2, 9am-12pm (Monday-Thursday) | Ages: 6-11 Cost: $120 Explore the woods with us in this awesome 4-half-day camp, led by outdoor educators from the Southern Oregon Land Conservancy and Pollinator Project Rogue Valley. Campers will meet at the JCC and then walk into the nearby Jacksonville Woodlands for exploration, observation, and nature journaling. Join us this summer as we enjoy our local trails and study plants and pollinators like an ecologist. 9:00am-9:10am- campers arrive at the Jacksonville Community Center 9:10am-11:50 am - guided hike, activities, and lunch in the Jacksonville Woodlands...

Experienced students are the focus of this ongoing class but beginners may join after contacting the instructor. Tai Chi and Qi Gong are calming practices that incorporate slow movement, breathwork, visualization, and meditation.

Woodpeckers are a keystone species; they play a critical role in the overall health and wellbeing of our ecological community by providing nesting and roosting holes for dozens of other birds and mammals. This powerpoint presentation will feature nine of our local woodpeckers. Shannon Rio is President of the Klamath Bird Observatory because of its work to protect birds and wild places in nature. She is a wildlife educator with a goal to connect people with nature so that they will want to care for what they love. Cost: $5 to support JCC!
