5/14 FREE HOUSE CONCERT: JOHN HOLLIS & BOB HAWORTH

Join JCC for this FREE family-friendly concert featuring vocalists Bob Haworth & John Hollis, as they share beloved guitar- and banjo-based tunes. Two of Southern Oregon’s favorite entertainers have joined forces to delight audiences with their superb vocal harmonies and instrumental prowess. Bob and John present a high energy show featuring an eclectic blend of “neo-akoostik” song stylings. Accompanying their world-class vocal harmonies with a variety of instruments, they win new fans with every performance.

Bob Haworth took to the road after graduating from Medford High School, replacing the lead tenor in the hit folk group, The Brothers Four. Then in 1985, he was invited to join The Kingston Trio, standing in for original member, Nick Reynolds. Bob toured the world and recorded several albums with both groups until 2005, when he set his sights on a solo career.

As a teenager in Baltimore, Maryland, John Hollis began playing in coffeehouses while also studying classical guitar at the Peabody Music Conservatory. Moving west after high school, he was bitten by the rodeo bug, riding bulls in the Northwest Rodeo Association. The western lifestyle found its way into John’s music as he became a featured performer at cowboy festivals and rodeos. Moving to Southern Oregon, John entertained patrons of Callahan’s Mt. Ashland Lodge for over 19 years.
