Every 40 seconds someone has a stroke, and it is the leading cause of long-term disability in
adults. Recognizing and responding to the signs and symptoms of a stroke can help prevent
serious damage in the brain (American Stroke Association, 2022). TIME IS BRAIN!
You’ll learn about:
What a stroke is
Identifying signs and symptoms of a stroke
Stroke risk factors & what causes a stroke

Instructor Bio: Jennine Greenwell is Jackson County’s Older Adult Behavioral Health Specialist with Jackson
County Health & Human Services and the Oregon Health Authority. Her job is to bring
resources, education, and training to the older adult community. Jennine Has a Master’s degree
in Human Services and currently is a resident of Jacksonville.
