Cancelled Series- Poetry/Non-fiction Writing Workshop with Celia Drill 3.4.25

March 4 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Sorry – This has cancelled due to instructor illness. Please join Celia Drill on Tuesdays nights in March for her poetry and creative non-fiction workshop. Celia is trained as a journalist and is a published poet who has taught creative writing at a variety of colleges and universities throughout California. She will employ her favorite strategies from those classes in the hopes of creating a wonderful writing community. Writers from novice to seasoned are welcomed, and writers can either bring pieces to workshop or create new ones or both. Writers are also welcome to attend workshop without sharing pieces, in order to support other members. Classes will begin with writing prompts for a chance to create new work, followed by workshop. Writers can ask for feedback and will control the process. Pieces can be shaped toward publication, and publication discussed as well as a general topic. Celia will focus on the strengths in each piece of writing and helping the writer hone their work. Openness, positivity and encouragement are foundational in Celia’s workshops.
Bio: Celia Drill has published two volumes of poetry, Body of Crimson Leaves, with Backwater Press, and Awake Through Dreams with Little Red Tree Press. Her latest collection of poetry, The Lost World, is with Atmosphere Press. Celia has her BA in English and Journalism from Humboldt State University, her MFA from San Francisco State University, and has taught creative writing at colleges and universities including Pepperdine, Humboldt State University, College of the Canyons, College of the Redwoods, Mendocino College and others, and she presently runs her own businesses, Positive Change Behavioral Inc., a California-based behavior therapy agency assisting children and teens with developmental disabilities, and Waves of Light Mystical Boutique, LLC.
