4/12 Jacksonville Wildflower Walk – with Larry & Linda Smith

April 12 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

$5.00

April in the Woodlands offers a wonderful show of wildflowers. Join us for a moderate hike to find beautiful examples and to learn about where they are likely to bloom. Our guides are Larry and Linda Smith, who know every trail of this beloved Jacksonville treasure. In good weather, we will start at JCC with about 30 min of introduction and then leave for the Woodlands walk.

We hope for sunshine but the walk will go on if the weather is a bit wet, so dress appropriately. If rain is heavy the session will be held indoors with photos at JCC. Pre-registration online is highly recommended. $5 suggested donation at the door or via pre-sale ticket.

Leader Bios: Larry Smith taught 5th grade at the Jacksonville Elementary School for 35 years. Although he is purportedly semi-retired, he continues to tour countless excursions of school kids on our network of trails. He was also a National Park Ranger at Crater Lake for 23 summers. He is a founding member of the Jacksonville Woodlands Association and has served in many roles in that organization, currently as Executive Director. He has written a history of the Jacksonville Woodlands, which can be purchased at the presentation. Linda Smith is a woodland plant expert and scout. She and Larry have had many travel adventures together all over the world. They have two adult children and seven grandchildren.
