Becky Foster is a volunteer with the local Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance (SHIBA) program, counseling Medicare beneficiaries on how to navigate this complex health program. Becky previously provided similar services to Medicare beneficiaries through California’s Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program in San Francisco for 6 years. Professionally, she advises life science and medical technology companies on how to make their products accessible to patients by ensuring adequate insurance coverage, which requires deep understanding of how Medicare makes decisions on what to cover.
Becky has an undergraduate degree from Harvard College and a Master’s in Public Heath with a focus on health policy and administration from the University of California, Berkeley. She will be using material provided by SHIBA, as well as resources she has acquired over her career.
