February 2023 Volunteer Highlight: Lynn Bronaugh

Lynn Bronaugh brings great community spirit to all her volunteer efforts. She believes her retirement years afford many opportunities to pay it forward, especially with the number of Jacksonville non-profit groups.  Lynn’s positive attitude and can-do approach to volunteerism has been a definite plus for the Jacksonville Community Center programs and events.

Currently, Lynn lends her time and expertise as a Program Assistant to the Tai Chi class.  Not only does she benefit personally from the wellness class, but she provides welcome support to the instructor.  Looking for a similar volunteer experience?  Lynn is open to sharing her experience.

Last November as planning started for the JCC After the Holiday Tree Lighting event, Lynn raised her hand to join the festivities as the head Elf working with Mrs. Claus on a children’s story time program.  Besides the fun she created, she inspired the team with her creativity.

In summer 2022, when the JCC piloted its first children’s summer camp, Lynn immediately answered the call for help with the children and found herself playing games and overseeing fun-filled activities.  She readily became one with the kids!

In addition to her volunteer work at the JCC, Lynn also volunteers with Food & Friends, Jacksonville Booster Club, and Friends of Jacksonville’s Historic Cemetery.  Lynn Bronaugh exemplifies the adage “If you want something done… ask a busy person to do it”.
