This is a six part series about issues that older adults face as they age. Topics include making your home age-friendly, simple home repairs, caregiver support and options for other living arrangements. Expert presenters will include time for your questions.

➢ Monday, Nov 18: Your Housing Options – Navigating Future Choices – Dr. Laura O’Bryon and Monique Clark

Although surveys show that most older adults want to remain in their current homes, circumstances such as a significant change in mobility or health conditions can require consideration of alternate living arrangements. What factors should be taken into account in making decisions about different living arrangements? What choices are available in our area and how much do they cost?

Dr. Laura O’Bryon

Laura has served in a variety of advocacy and leadership roles in her career and has been in our region for most of the last 40 years. Currently, she serves as Rogue Valley Council of Government’s Director of Senior and Disability Services, our regional Area Agency on Aging, for Jackson and Josephine Counties.

Monique Clark

Over the last 20 years, Monique Clark has managed community living programs for adults with developmental disabilities and worked as a case manager for older adults receiving care in their homes and facilities. During this time she also provided workforce training/education, was a CPR and 1st Aid Instructor and Certified Senior Advisor. Currently, she serves a Senior and Disability Services Service Coordinator at Rogue Valley Council of Governments.

A $5.00 donation to JCC is suggested for the each session. Financial assistance is available to those for whom the fee would be a hardship.
