This is a six part series about issues that older adults face as they age. Topics include making your home age-friendly, simple home repairs, caregiver support and options for other living arrangements. Expert presenters will include time for your questions. Following is a list of the specific topics being offered:

➢ Monday, Sept 9: Making your home more age-friendly/home modification—Sharon and Howard Johnson

➢ Monday, Sept 23: Simple home repairs—Rick Patsche

➢ Monday, Oct 7: Issues for Caregivers: getting support and knowing local resources— Heidi Gehman and Sandy Divine

It is easy for family caregivers to experience isolation, stress, guilt, anger or depression. At times the caregiver’s health can be at risk. This session will introduce participants to information about tools and strategies to handle caregiving challenges, as well as resources to support caregivers that are available in our valley.

She is trained in the Teepa Snow dementia support program called Positive Approach to Care, teaches and runs Powerful Tools for Caregiver classes, and coordinates respite care for caregivers.
