Birds are amazing animals; there is no doubt about that! We marvel at their beauty, get impressed when they take a flight and even laugh at some of their various antics in the wild. But did you know that birds can also make great pets? It’s true! Join us to learn more about keeping birds as pets and see if you have what it takes to open your heart and your home to welcome some of these wonderful animals into your family.
Co-Presenters: Sindy Harris & Heather Gomberg
Sindy Harris is passionate about pigeons. In her former life, Sindy was an attorney in CA. She worked as a staff attorney for five civil judges in Contra Costa County Superior Court. She fell in love with domesticated pigeons after her husband found a white pigeon on the freeway and brought it home. That was the start of a love affair with rescuing, fostering and adopting these beautiful feathered friends.
Heather Gomberg is a professional parrot trainer who has worked with a variety of birds for almost 20 years. From performing in bird shows at Downtown Disney (Anaheim CA) to presenting educational programs with the Northwest Bird Club in Medford, Heather has helped to improve the relationships between people and their birds.
