WEDDING VENUE 

Full-Day Wedding Venue Package

Fee:  $1000 for 14 hours from 8am – 10pm.  $300 refundable deposit.  Fee covers use of rooms, grounds, event kitchen, tables & chairs.

Half-Day Wedding Venue Package

Fee:  $600 for 6 hours| 10am – 4pm or 4pm-10pm.  $300 deposit.  Fee covers use of rooms, grounds, event kitchen, tables & chairs.

All Wedding Packages Include:

  • Use of the Great Room, capacity is 100 people
  • Use of the cottage, capacity 28 people
  • Use of event kitchen, a full catering kitchen
  • Use of 12 5-foot round tables and 90 chairs
  • Available public parking for approx 40 cars
  • Wireless internet & trash & recycling service

FACILITY RENTAL 

Great Room

The Great Room is located in a modern facility with 1,332 sq. ft.  Capacity is 85 people with tables and chairs or 100 people with chairs only.  The cost is $60 per hour.  There is a refundable $250 deposit.  Total rental time must include set-up and clean-up time.

Cottage

The Cottage is the historic portion of the facility and is 700 sq. ft.  Capacity is 28 people with tables and chairs.  Also has adjoining Kitchen and projection screen.  The cost is $20 per hour.  There is a refundable $25 security deposit.

Catering Kitchen

The catering kitchen is located in a modern facility.  It has 2 ovens, a double fridge and freezer.  Linens, plates and kitchenware are not provided.  The cost is $25 per hour.  There is a refundable $250 deposit.

Things Going on in May

 

Sunday, May 12 – 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Let’s Chant

Led by Peggy Leviton of Jacksonville, a typical session may include Native American, Sanskrit, Hawaiian, and African chants. You need not be a singer to chant. You only need to enjoy having fun to participate. Donations of $5.00 suggested.

Sunday, May 12 – 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. – Alcoholics Anonymous

This AA meeting is open to the public and is held in the cottage every Sunday. It is led by a Jacksonville resident.

Monday, May 13 – 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. – Adult Singing

This singing class is taught by Andrea Hochkeppel, who lives in Jacksonville, and includes songs from Broadway, classic pop and even some TV theme songs. You need not be a proficient singer to join in; you must just like to sing. The class fee is $10.00. This is the last class in the series.

Tuesday, May 14 – 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. – Music Jam

Every Tuesday evening, there is a music jam at the community center for musicians of all talent levels and from 10 years-old to adult. Bring your instruments and meet other local musicians. A donation is suggested.

Wednesday, May 15 – 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. – Tai Chi

Tai chi is taught every Wednesday by Pete Leonard who lives in Jacksonville. New students can begin the class anytime. The class fee is $5.00.

Wednesday, May 15 – 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. – Kid’s Bucket Band

Bucket band is taught by Andrea Hochkeppel and is for children ages 6-9 years. Five year old children can attend if accompanied by a parent or adult. Students are taught rhythm and how to create a variety of sounds while gaining confidence and skill in making music together. This is the last class in this series. Class fee is $15.00.

Thursday, May 16 – 8:15 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. – Chamber of Commerce Meeting

The Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce holds quarterly networking meetings and this is their regular scheduled meeting. Chamber Executive Director, Tim Balfour, invites anyone interested in the Chamber to attend.

Other uses of the Center have included band practice, quilting clubs, children’s piano lessons, book clubs, Girl Scouts, seniors’ after lunch card games and lecture series, and local club and organizations’ Boards of Directors meetings.
